YEDA 2025

The Young Emerging Designer  Award 2025 is a flagship project of Shalom Design & Beauty Center Sarl, aimed at identifying and promoting emerging fashion designers across Cameroon and potentially Central Africa. The competition targets young creatives between the ages of 18 and 35, particularly beginners in the fashion industry, offering them a unique opportunity to showcase their talent, gain visibility, receive mentorship, and win tangible support to kickstart their careers.

With categories that highlight creativity, sustainability, and overall design excellence, the award initiative is positioned to empower the next generation of designers, support innovation in African fashion, and contribute to socio-economic development through creative enterprise.

Background and Rationale

The African fashion industry is brimming with untapped talent, especially among the youth. However, many aspiring designers lack access to formal education, platforms, mentorship, and funding. Cameroon, like many African nations, experiences a disconnect between emerging talent and industry structures that can support their development.

Shalom Design & Beauty Center Sarl recognizes this gap and is committed to bridging it by offering a structured, merit-based competition to identify, mentor, and elevate promising young designers. This project will not only inspire excellence in fashion design but will also promote creativity, entrepreneurship, and cultural expression in a modern and sustainable way.
